I know I should just play it on PC, but I don't have a decent computer so keep comments about that to yourself. I'm here to explain how things work on xbox. The confogl community is small but we love to play. We follow our own set of rules when playing matches which is why I'm here. I think it would be cool to see a configuration that implemented some of our rules, and would but amazing although I never expect to see, a configuration, or some sort of update on xbox that forced us to follow these rules because when these rules are broken, games end abruptly and side effects include hurt butts.

1. No running on tanks. It would be great if there were some way to stop distance points from progress past the point of tank spawn until the tank is dead or has gone AI.

2. We only allow the 4 sets of pills that spawn at the beginning of each map. A config with no extra pill spawns would be cool. People always lag out between chapters on xbox so while waiting for them to reconnect the team on infected can shop for extra pills.

3. No avoiding the witch, she is there, you must kill her. Something like the witch bonus on promod would be the deciding factor in many games since we never got a health bonus update and have to rely on the 25 point damage tie breaker which is lame.

4. No fire on tanks. So no Molotov or gas can spawns would be ideal.

5. No jockey punching (the instant incap that occurs when a tank punches a jockeyed survivor) which in my opinion should've been fixed with the first ever update. It's so cheap, I don't understand why it was never fixed.

That is all unless I'm forgetting something. I'd be happy with a friggin health bonus or eq style bonus or anything other than a 25 pt survival bonus per character.

I believe modding on Xbox would be possible if there was Sourcemod support for it. But naturally there is none. I am guessing that the MLG Xbox players do not require balance tweaks to be able to quickscope hunters. Or at least that is the general opinion among Sourcemod developers.

Some of that might be doable with the mutation engine, but I think Valve has basically finished publishing updates for L4D2 XBox.

I'm honestly kind of surprised the jockey punching bug is on XBox. When was the last time Valve put out an update?

If you had some way to "hack" the game and get it to run different vscripts on your local-hosted-server, we could ship out Confogl mutation updates that way... I could be convinced to try to work on updates if that were possible somehow.

I'll have to check on the date of the last update. I had a feeling if someone could or would be willing to help it would probably be you Prodigy, I learned a lot from watching your YouTube videos and matches on your channel. I'm out of town for the next couple of days, but when I return I may know someone that would be capable of doing what is required to create an update. Thank you.

Word man. If anyone knows a method to override some of the game files with custom ones we might have an opening to accomplish something.

I believe there is a way. L4D1 players play on a modded version. I tried asking some people how they do it so that I could make a l4d2 config for them, but the guy who made the mod is all secretive about it and won't work with me. :/

As a longtime Xbox player, I can agree that while Confogl is much better than Vanilla (thank you Psim :O), but the general brokenness of Xbox along with the local servers, it is somewhat lacking in enjoyability. Speaking of local servers, that's exactly what you need to have to get this. You'll need a host with access to extensive mods ; such as NMMK who is now on PC, who will make a mod to load configs. You'll have to design them yourselves though. I had the same problem of not having a good enough PC to play on, so I feel your pain. Good luck with all your endeavors!

And you're right k3pooch I don't believe there are any dedicated servers. If the host disconnects from the game on what is labeled a dedicated server the server shuts down. "Valved" is the term we use for it, because the game restarts and sends you to the valve loading screen we see when the game is launched. But hey, it gives rage quitters a good excuse if they're hosting, "I valved man, sorry but I don't have time to rematch." lol

Although I finally switched to PC, I would still like to try to update the Xbox config. There are still a lot of Xbox players, especially since Microsoft released reverse compatibility for Xbox one so they can join 360 players, and they deserve a little love.

I believe I may know of a way to make this work. I uploaded the files from my Xbox to a flash drive and opened them on my PC and although I don't know shit about coding I looked through them and saw a cvar about random horde spawn timing and adjusted it and tried it out and it worked. I was thinking if maybe we were able to just replace one of the mutations with something like promod 5.0 or EQ it may be playable on Xbox if all of the players were willing to replace their game files. The only servers available after all, are local. If anyone would like to help add me on steam.
