Hackers & Cheaters / Re: Serenity is not cheating
« on: January 22, 2017, 08:31:55 am »
Salty players have said shit about how "everyone cheats" in this game forever, and never come up with a list of more than "This guy who quit playing 2 years ago cheated". I'm sure they've all got blackmail on each other, and they're so scared of their internet reputations that they'd never be able to call out a cheater.

Supra - BHop hacking and possibly more.
Dusty - BHop hacking, according to Zen's past logs.
Jon - BHop hacking, pretty obvious.
Danne - Someone shared with me some suspicious behavior he did in a pub over a year back. Seems to have incredible knowledge of hacks as well. I would imagine Danne is smart enough to not get caught by pointing at ghosts/hunters in bushes.
SideWaysBox - It was no secret he was using BHop hacks several years ago.
Luckylock - He developed his own BHop script, who knows what else he might be working with?
Mao - BHop hacking, could it be more obvious? Wait till the end of the Tank wipe as well.
Dexonaut - BHop hacking, every jump was a BHop until I called him out. Coincidence?
LukeSwear - BHop hacking, don't think he plays anymore but it was pretty obvious a year ago. When I called him out in steam, he was more: "What about all those other people that BHop a lot?".
ArticFox - There is no suspicion of cheating, but moreso that he seems to fit the personality profile that most generic cheaters seem to have.

... & a bunch of europeans that I can't be bothered to remember their names. There are more suspected cheaters that can fill the list but these are just the ones off the top of my head.

Here is my list, let's see if it's a start. Oh wait... it won't get anywhere just like the supposed list StrikingSerenity might release.

Or start by finding new priorities in life instead of feeling inadequate if you can't impress five nerds and a couple of chicks living 10'000km away from you.
It's harder to get caught in a dead game that no one is updating so it's easier to feel superior here with a sense of security.

Please release this list of active community members using this, I'd love to hear it.

I think it's a bit obvious which community members are already using hacks, and even if he did release this so called list no one would believe him and the users listed would just call bullshit. It's funny you guys look at wallhacking/aimbotting and make educated guesses to ban people but completely forgo making educated guesses to ban people for bhop hacking.

It's like there is some sort of conspiracy...

I wonder if he was cheating back when he was shit talking me for no apparent reason.

Clip 3 : A jockey that yes, he could track, but someone of his talents wouldn't be able to. He follows it through the grating. When slowed down, you can see the bullets are again going off to the left/right. Spectator lag is present.
I would like to point out how transparent things like the grating/fences are is based on your graphic settings, so what you can't see others might see with different graphic settings.

I believe it's related to Anisotropic Filtering and Texture Quality. Higher = Easier to see through transparent props but it's inconsistent.

LucktardLuck involved in more cheating...

Firstly, The drop in performance cannot be simply pegged down to a slightly reduced framerate or some input lag, The change was night and day.
The difference between streaming and not-streaming while playing at optimal levels can actually be quite night and day. I remember just 2 years ago the huge difference of my gameplay when I was and wasn't streaming.

That isn't something that happens based on a few dropped frames or slightly reduced FPS, besides none of the players complained about any kind of lag issues before, during or after the game.
They may or may not have known why their worse gameplay was related to streaming. I don't doubt you that they were perhaps cheating.

These people did not have to stream at a good bitrate or care about quality/optimization of their stream, They throw it on with the most basic settings possible and go.
Just 2 years ago if I put my stream at 480p @ 30 fps 2000 bitrate I still felt the impact. You are live encoding gameplay footage. Something that less than a decade ago was thought to be impossible for the regular consumer. It is a very intensive process.

Players do not go from being machines who have the awareness and aim of a god to being utterly useless and refusing to even attempt to play survivor. They gave up before even giving it a shot at playing survivor fairly.
Repeating what I said above, the difference between streaming and not streaming can seriously be night and day. It requires a lot of finesse and to have minimal/no-impact streaming. You can have things such as dropped sounds, skipped frames, and that's applying to your game not your stream.

Hell, it's 2017 and I am still suffering from this issue -
Even on a two 60hz monitors, having any dynamic content on my secondary monitor even when in full-screen caused me serious issues on my primary monitor. The only way to this day to currently solve this, is to disable all dynamic content on your secondary monitor while gaming. This includes disabling OBS scene preview.

Regarding the hacks, again...
As I said, I don't doubt you. I just wanted to clear up that asking someone to stream to prove their innocence isn't foolproof and "just setting your stream to the most basic settings possible" isn't as simple as you think.

They didn't even last a whole chapter last time they were forced to play clean and stream their game and monitor

I want to state some things as someone who has streamed since ~2011.

First off, streaming can have a very impacting effect on your gameplay. The performance of your hardware can help mitigate this, but obviously people with lower-end hardware will take a bigger impact. I can not speak for a 2-PC setup since I have no experience with that, but I heard it alleviates all impact from streaming. Going from hardware upgrade to hardware upgrade, I have spent years messing with settings in my BIOS, OS, Open Broadcaster Software and my game(s) and just now in early 2017 am I finally able to safely play games and stream with basically little to no impact on my action inputs and framerate.

I could understand someone who does not have as much stream experience as me getting frustrated with being forced to stream and dealing with bullshit performance and... let's face it the community is pretty toxic so I would imagine they would ragequit from playing poorly.

An average casual streamer who blows at video games or doesn't care about their skill performance honestly won't have any issues with the problems they will get from streaming. However, someone who cares about their skill performance will probably be very frustrated with a lot of the crap that comes with streaming.

Having multiple monitors, what resolution your play/stream at, the polling rate of your hardware, your operating system, your motherboard's performance with multiple USB devices such as webcam, the refresh rate of your monitors, your GPU (Older GPUs have less bandwidth and can't copy over as many frames), what capture method you use, your network provider, your BIOS settings.

That's not even everything a streamer who cares about their skill performance will have to deal with. So no, it's not as simple as "stream your game and your monitor" to help clear someone's innocence. Lastly, streaming your game doesn't even guarantee that the person still isn't cheating. There are hacks being made for streamers these days that overlay themselves over your windowed-mode game. It shows up on your monitor, but not the stream. Then there are hacks that can just be ran in the background or even installed into your mouse/keyboard -

Oh boy. Ammount of diplicity in ths thread is just something. People who were fawn upon Kissme, now talk bad about him.
Code: [Select]
deceitfulness; double-dealing.
No one here besides possibly Shade is two-faced. Everyone else has always been pretty outspoken about their dislike of KissMe.

I just want to know.
Why this came out only now?
Why Kissme was feeling pretty great in this Communtiy despite he should have been despised for what he had supposedly done?
It's been around for a while, iamSun. This didn't just "come out just now" and for you to state that shows how little you are actually involved in the competitive Left4Dead community.

Xbye, "I did a lot for this community"

What a conceit man.
You're right. I should just downplay my own contributions and never ever mention them in any fashion. How dare I gloat about my contributions. I find it sad that a person is not allowed to mention their own accomplishments/contributions without being demonized.

Idolizing =/= Accepting facts. He contributed a lot.
I've known kissme a long time, doesn't change the fact he did a lot for the community.

Actually, no. KissMe contributed very little to the community and took a whole lot more from it. If anything, he was a leach to the community and fed off of everyone else's prowess and contributed nothing else but this one tournament right before leaving.

I don't remember KissMe helping out new players that didn't have a pair of tits. I don't remember KissMe spending hours teaching people how to play the game better. I don't remember KissMe helping with server configurations or developing the game's config. I don't remember him covering games regardless of their skill-level or friendship to him.

So then, what did he do if he didn't do any of the above? Well... I guess he streamed matches and funded/contributed one tournament.  Except we have multiple people that streamed matches, some arguably better than him. So I guess that means the only thing he contributed to this community is his one tournament. News flash... KissMe didn't cover matches because no one else wanted to. He covered matches because he didn't let anyone else cover them.

So stop aggrandizing KissMe. His contribution to the community was little and he took more than he gave.

Twisted, Sinclair, I didn' knew about this story before (if it even happened in the first place) and I wasn't supposed to know this story. You two little envious shits who did nothing for this community could not just keep your dirty mouths shut and not try to blacken name of Kissme do you?
I did a lot for this community. Does this warrant my ability to shit talk someone who you idolize? The only people that like Kissme unconditionally and only ever mention his... "contribution" to the community are those that aren't aware of his seriously bad past behavior.

Basically the only way for people to NOT say you are a bad admin, is to do no admin'ing at all.
Speaking truth. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this community is filled with people who hate authority.

You guys can quit your bitching. The Uzi/SMG has been nerfed on the Hot Mess servers for the Acemod for a while it seems. Though I saw no notice/announcement about it, so either it's a mistake or someone's trying to slip balance changes underneath everyone's noses.

Mmm... no? No one is getting ignored.

I'm being ignored  :'(

I keep saying don't nerf the uzi/smg back to it's useless state, just increase drop-off damage of both the uzi/smg and the shotguns because both do too much damage at longer distances. Everyone would much rather you have to stand and shoot like CS:GO with the uzi/smg rather than move and shoot like Quake.

For those of you that want Uzi/SMG slowdown back in favor of making the tank it's original speed again -

I could be wrong, but I think the uzi/smg were unbuffed on Hot Mess servers? I was playing Acemod last night and I swear it felt like they were inaccurate while moving again.

- Double getups happening almost never versus happening every game seems worth caring about.
Here is my take on this...

First of all, double getups are predictable, and easily reproducible. While they are frustrating, maybe even overpowered, they can be used strategically. This in my opinion is far better than trying to fix them which wasn't consistent at all, meaning that you or a team mate might be expecting no double getup and then get thrown off on the 1/5 chance it actually happens. I think we removed dynamic shotgun spread in favor of static shotgun spread because predictability is preferred by competitive level players, right?

I feel like nobody read my suggestion about increasing drop-off damage on the shotgun and uzi at all, everyone seems to be adamant about nerfing the uzi back to it's useless camping state.
