I'm a bit stuck on testing since I don't have a functional test server. Would one of you be willing to (at least for 4.5.1) give me access to FTP & SSH for one of your servers?

5) the stk test server has issues (random crashes / segmentation faults) and isnt reliable for testing. its what we were using up until today.

ultimately baiting and positioning would become a lot more important and personally I think being able to bait and move around smartly is more equitable in that circumstance (meaning better placed and thinking survivors can achieve greater) than in the current dynamics of weapons and movement.

I found a little problem with this plugin. The SMAC eyetest module can conflict with that plugin, I talk about it with Visor. Do you plan to remove this plugin from ProMod default package? Or replace it?
I can just remove it by myself, but it's strange, if you look into a SMAC module sourcecode, you will see that this plugin can do a very bad things, that can provide a lot of false-positive SMAC detects (I think in very rare cases, but can!), and some of server admins can just ban a random users.  :(.

1 or 2 hits here and there should go overlooked unless the server owner doesn't know what a legit eyetest detection looks like. A legit detection will spam hits as long as the user is on the server and using their hack, pretty much there will be no doubt as there will be a wall of eyetest hits in the logs. Hopefully any server owner worth their salt will provide the logs as evidence with any SMAC induced bans.

For me, the fix has been to revert to these revisions.

SourceMod Version: 1.6.0-dev+4171
Metamod:Source version 1.11.0-dev

Our servers now appear to be fully stable.

In other words, using the MM and SM versions that originally came with the server package worked? Who'd have thunk?

Seeing as fig newtons, who is a tournament admin in NA, is absolutely fine with any kind of scripts(even fully automatic bunny hop, and even tried to develop one himself), it's safe to say that our mentalities differ greatly from our American friends.

I wasn't aware one person represented the entire US scene. The more you know I guess....

Oh good, we found the inevitable "something has to go wrong" fairly quickly this time.  :P
I just took the most recent version of l4d2lib off psims bitbucket, compiled it with no errors, and tried loading up 10-15 maps. Never had any issues on my end. But I'll go ahead and roll back to the previous version of l4d2lib until I have a chance to actually look at the source myself and see what the potential issue is. Download link in the main post is updated.

As for your 2nd set of errors, I haven't had any issues on my end. Do you have the latest version of l4downtown? It should have been included in a recent update. And are those errors causing any issues, such as readyup not loading? Or is it just spamming your logs.

So can I assume that just replacing l4d2lib.smx from 4.2.2 with the old one it over wrote will fix everything?

What sort of pre-reqs are you looking for? If you already have 3.5 working, you should be able to perform a fresh install of 4.2.1 to get it working. If a fresh install of 4.2.1 doesn't work, then what sort of errors are you getting?

In general, promod requires metamod, sourcemod, sdkhooks, and stripper:source. If you want things to be really simple, just use ZenDigital's server package as a base for your server, then update promod to 4.2.1. All of the required server software is included in the package, including metamod and sourcemod. Just make sure that you don't overwrite files you want to keep, such as your server.cfg.


Actually it's HIGHLY recommended that you use the server.cfg included in the package. Otherwise certain included features won't work such as the custom server namer that shows what config if being played atm. I recommend you backup you original server.cfg and copy the personal/custom details over to the new server.cfg.
