Some members of the community and myself have been working on this website where you can queue up for pugs.

This could make it much easier for outsiders to come play with us.

This is the first iteration, but the core functionality that we wanted is there.

If you start a mix or a pug, I encourage you to use this website. Since not many people
know about it right now, you may need to post the website link in the group chat.

Sir has been working hard on a L4D2 Competitive Rework. Basically, we now have an up to date version of Sourcemod. That means some little amount of work is needed in older configs to port them over to the new way of loading / unloading configs.

Unfortunately, there are a few missing plugins / wrong paths in his repository, so I took it upon myself to continue his work and also offer more than just the basics.

If you, server owners, want to update your servers to the latest Sourcemod version with working configs, you should checkout the L4D2 Luckylock Server Install repository. There may still be some bugs (with EQ / Promod Elite especially), so make sure to report them and we'll try our best to solve them.

Confogl & Miscellaneous / OpenMod
« on: April 15, 2019, 09:01:52 am »
Worked on my personal take on competitive L4D2. It's ZoneMod with some game changing modifications applied to it (just like ZoneMod was Acemod with modifications). It's also got some new plugin(s) that improve gameplay.

The main features / changes are on the OpenMod repository.

I do plan on maintaining active development for the near future. If you have any questions or feedback you can contact me on steam.

Servers & Adminning / PSA: Command exploit that crashes servers
« on: March 27, 2019, 01:26:32 am »
Server owners should block a particular command that anyone can use to crash servers.

I'm not going to post the exploit here, but if you're a server owner you can add me and I'll tell you what command to block.

There's a new L4D2 Update that fixes this exploit.

Hackers & Cheaters / Serenity is not cheating
« on: January 20, 2017, 03:56:58 am »
This video was shown as proof of Serenity cheating in the hotmess group: (Reason for the ban) (Video "proof" in the description)

However, this "bullet curving" behavior happens when you spectate someone and it's normal behavior, therefor the "proof" of him hacking is irrelevant / doesn't prove anything. (disproving the evidence)

The reason why bullets are leading (recording a demo causes this):

I get that this is a private community and the admins can do what they want, but this video isn't actually proof that he is cheating, so if you want to ban him for cheating provide actual proof.

The chair that usually allows you to run back is now pass-through for some reason (you can't jump on it, it's not solid), is that intended? You can't run back anymore

The alarm doors are also still breakable in the same map later on.

This week will be a mess because of how broken this dead center map is

The Bleed Out Tournament / Dead Center Elevator Spit
« on: May 02, 2016, 12:12:51 am »
Can we possibly get "no spitter" zones in both map 1 and map 5 elevators?

The spit is inconsistent, and when it spreads inside it's extremely overpowered. We have the no spitter zone in Hard Rain elevator and there is no reason to not have it in Dead Center

Hackers & Cheaters / Are these legit bhops? (scrim against some russians)

I thought tank bhops were blocked. wut?

their profiles;

Server: mlg shack 100 ticks

next up some suspicious tracking, I don't think much conclusion can be drawn from that though after re-watching it

Pro Mod / Re: RBT3 Round 5 - Dead Center
« on: October 17, 2015, 02:38:57 pm »
A few people have asked about the c1m4 (Dead Center finale) witch that spawns outside the elevator on the ground floor.

Our understanding is that if survivors shoot the witch from above and then wait, she will eventually make it to the 3rd floor and attack the survivors. However, if survivors shoot the witch and then enter the elevator, she will lose nav and run away. Therefore, it is legal to shoot the with from the 3rd floor but it is not legal to shut the elevator door while she is raged. Obviously, it would also be illegal to return to the saferoom, or anywhere else that causes the witch to stop attacking.

Honestly the witch should just spawn before the elevator. Once the elevator opens, we have to deal with witch / spit glitch / tank spawn / other SI. With the nature of the witch glitching and the inconsistency of the spit spread, the begining of the map becomes extremely flukey.

Ever since the patch that was supposed to "fix" charger chest bumps, I've had constant situations of outright ridiculous chest bumps that would not happen in a vanilla game. Maybe that or I'm just noticing them more...

What was supposed to reduce chest bumps actually seems to have increased it by a lot. You used to be able to charge people's shoulder when very close and it would work, or charge people when they were smoked up close.

Whatever fiddling you did with the charger chest bumps revert them back. It did more harm than good.

Again, it's either worse or the same and I'm noticing it more, but definetly not better.

Looking & Recruiting / *Urgent* Euro admins for tournament needed
« on: January 21, 2015, 05:17:05 pm »
Not sure where to post this, but Visor and Sir have deserted the euro tournament they hosted after Round 1.

As a result, the tournament is over unless someone (preferably a euro member since it's a euro tourny) steps up and takes the admin position.

Currently, hann happens to be the admin of the group, but he never intended to be there and I personally have no idea how to do brackets or handle any of that stuff. But I want to see the tournament be continued so that's why I'm making this post.

General / Hesitating between the Sennheiser HD 558 & HD 598
« on: November 25, 2014, 02:54:36 pm »
SOOO yeah, some say they sound the same, others say 598 is better but not worth the extra 70 bucks or so..

I have even heard about the 558 mod that apparently makes it sound like the 598, but I would rather not take my headphone appart (so I wouldnt do the mod).

I want these headphones because they dont concentrate on bass but focus more on the mids and highs. awesome for music and gaming imo. I figured I am not too much of a bass guy.

What do you assholes think?

... FIGHT!

General / Did you like Evolve?
« on: November 02, 2014, 04:37:58 pm »
It was amazing, I'm just gonna copy / paste a rant I did on another forum.

I played it.. I played it so much.. I played 19 hours in 2 days.

The game: Made (or in the making) by Turtle Rock, same company that originally made the first Left 4 Dead. It's currently a 4v1 format where you have 4 hunters chasing a big monster in a wild life environment. The monster has 20 minutes to either kill the hunters or the power relay. Monster starts weaker than the hunters but evoles into 3 different stages by eating wild life animals, so he has to run away from them while eating stuff to grow stronger. The hunters job is to kill the monster before it gets too strong.

-> The hunters don't upgrade or evolve by any means (sometimes they can pick up temporary boosts from wild life animals), only the monster evolves (Stage 1-3)
-> It's still possible to kill the stage 3 monster by barricading yourself with mines, sentry guns and harpoon traps in front of the power relay (the monster can only kill the power relay at stage 3)

Pros: The game is brilliant and doesn't have bugs and it's a freaking alpha. It looks amazing, feels responsive, has plenty of meta, a high skill cap, a lot of depth.. the meta is real. I loved it 10/10 would fuck again. I'm a level 22 and I unlocked all the second characters for every class except the monster because I don't like playing it. This game provided me with the most addicting fun I've had in a while, and it's saying something. Lots of combos I already found worked really well. They're also going to add more diversity to the game by adding more characters for the classes and more monsters. They might also do different game modes than 4v1.

Cons: The game costs too much, they're asking for about 70 bucks, and all the in-game progress (xp, unlocks) from alpha will get reset. The games don't last very long and take a long time to start with the current automated matchmaking system.
