You're mistaken mate, better might be subjective but only in its own range because thats how the marketing is done, you will never find a low-end cpu outperforming a mid-range one, let alone the high-end so yehh higher the price better the shit you get..

//I know its an old post but i felt like i had to reply to it

Tell that to Alienware.

scene buffering to 700ms,  uncheck "force desktop audio to use video timestamps",  set "global audio sync offset" to 0ms.

Lastly, I found this in your log as well:

Code: [Select]
WARNING: Another hook is already present while trying to hook d3d9.dll, hook target is
 \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Program Files (x86)\RadeonPro\AppProfiles.dll.
If you experience crashes, try disabling the other hooking application

you don't need to uninstall radeon pro, just need to disable what it forcing an on-screen overlay with it.

Cheers for the info. Lots to consider
hey buddy, did you have an updated logfile to show? sorry I dont check back here very often, l4d2 getting stagnate for me but I'm around to help

What? That is not always true. Better is subjective and can depend on the use case. As for price, often price undercutting is done to break into a market and build awareness, so cost doesn't always necessarily determine quality (there's also brand-labeling, government imposed fees such as uber vs taxi industry for example, and so on).

you probably upgraded to an FX8350 from a FX6300. That would make sense with the 4GHz 8 core AMD.

AMDs Piledriver line is subpar when it comes to intel's true 8core implementation.  Infact, its more like 4 shared cores with 4 other shared cores which is some cases, runs slower than an i5 4690.

This being said, 720@40 veryfast preset, should be fine for your CPU, but I would like to see an actual logfile and maybe I'll get on mumble with you or steam chat while we go over some things to assist with your CPU usage.

Are you still checking this dping? Your last checked helped me a bunch and now I'm looking for a little bit of help again.

I just upgraded my CPU! The price was right and I picked up an AMD FX(™)-6300 Eight-Core Processor 4.00GHz. A slight upgrade but it should help. I was hoping you could take a look at my settings and help me optimize it - Best quality for the lowest impact, that kind of thing. I've taken screenshots of all my OBS settings so you can see exactly what they're set at. Again thanks for doing this. Any insight would be great.

I seem to be getting a "high encoding warning: consider turning down settings" fairly frequently while streaming, although the dropped frames are gone for the most part. Again, I really appreciate the help.

ofcourse I'll take a look.  sorry, I just got to my PC and catching up on convo. will reply soon.

ika,And "hint for life" if You can't handle something by yourself - you better ask for help.

ElusivΣ, I always knew who is da strongest caster here.

Kissme, so You basically say You didn't ignored me at all? Seems like lie. I will never believe that someone as experienced as You can't handle Steam. ._. I never had this problems at all despite volume of my pm and activities this days. Also it doesn't justify dodging questions with retarded excuses at all. And your behaviour when you tried to teach me how to ask questions too. It was just plain terrible after all this stuff you did.

I've been on his friendlist for a long time now and yes, there are cases where I dont ever get a reply and there are other cases where he responds almost immediately and sometimes a reply days later.  who cares unless it is something that he needs to know immediately, if he didn't respond, it either wasn't the most important thing to him, or he closed it before he read what you wanted.

as bipolar as you sounded in that chat, you sounded more insecure with someone not catering to you as you must have grown up with so I dont blame you for being insecure when people dont reply.

TBH, if I got that message for you, I'd tell you to go to OBS forums, or I might help if you asked nicely, but you didnt. Saying please doesn't mean you were being nice.
That being said, if you cant handle something, google is your friend.

Left 4 Dead 2 / Re: Help with lerp settings??
« on: August 13, 2015, 04:58:45 pm »
I have been having a strange issue lately when I join a promod game and I enter my lerp cl_interp_ratio 0; cl_interp 0; rate 60000

Instead of having 60/60/60000 like desired instead it comes out to 100/6/30000 no matter what I do it always stays at this.

Does anyone know a fix to this? I've tried different settings but its always 100/6/ or 101/6/ and always 30000 and I have no idea why.

Yes, try this:
"rate 60000;cl_cmdrate 60;cl_updaterate 60;cl_interp 0.0;cl_interp_ratio -1"

cl_interp_ratio -1 will always use the minimum of the server no matter the situation

How can you pubstar as much as you do and not know how to do this. I know how to do this and I also know how to spawn duplicate survivor bots. But I will not tell you how to do these things.

What I will tell you is that they need to rejoin the server in order to do this kick glitch. So if you see someone that has a reputation for doing this then add them to your block list so they can't rejoin the server, that's what I do and then I unblock them when I'm done playing.

I can confirm the rejoin thing. Both times recently when I've seen this, the player rejoined the server and then, BAM!

Log from a short test stream because you told me to do this so we can fix my audio desync.

Did I have you sync audio to video? If not uncheck that. That setting can bring in drifting but it it best without it if you can just sync it.

Check windows playback devices by m2ing your speaker icon near the clock. Double click your default playback device and go to the advanced tab.  Look at audio format and whatever Hz rating it is set to, set OBS to the same. It will be either 48000Hz or 44100Hz

@visor I asked him to set the global  audio offset because audio was behind video during his stream.

EDIT:  I would make a separate scene for all your game captures instead of housing than all in one scene. Remove all the other sources except the game capture for l4d2 and try again. Multiple (checked) capture sources can cause issues in the same scene, you have 4 or 5

EDIT2: Sorry I'm on mobile so I didn't see this as well. Change from mp3 to AAC since that is pretty standard for your audio device.

Are you still doing this? Or is there anyone reading that could help me out?

I am a new streamer (started in May) and I have had a recurring issue where, sometimes, I get significant frame drops. Sometimes it is a short stint, other times (like last night) it becomes un-watchable and crests well over 30% dropped frames. And yet sometimes I stream 7-8 hours without a single lost frame.

According to every help guide and FAQ I have read, my internet and hardware should be enough to handle 1080p@60fps at 3500 bitrate. However because of my frequent frame drops I played with my settings and hit something of a sweet spot with 720p@30fps with 2500 bitrate. I want higher quality, of course, but I will live with lower quality should I need to in order to stream. Most of my streams go off without a hitch, but the frame drops still happen and are becoming, seemingly, more frequent. It's just frustrating because most streams are perfectly fine. Then I will get one that is just awful. Here is my hardware and internet speed -

OS: Windows 8.1 x64bit
Processor: AMD FX(™)-6300 Six-Core Processor 3.50GHz
RAM: 16 GB
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
Monitors: Acer G246HLAbd 24” LED-backlit LCD Monitor 60hz refresh 1920x1080 (two of these, in case my monitors matter)
Internet Speed: Ping: 28-32, 110-114Mbps download, 9-12Mbps upload (average numbers from 5 current tests on speedtest.net)
Stream Settings: Resolution 1280x720, 2500 Max Bitrate and Buffer Size, 720p and 30 fps. Using the US West Los Angeles Server

OBS Logs link (Good/No frames lost stream) - https://gist.github.com/cd510d0143b139e9c01f

I'm not a big computer person but I have been learning more and more as I dive in to streaming, and according to some other people my CPU could be to blame since it's a little on the lower side? As in it might be a weak link in my set-up? I also thought that family in the house watching netflix and/or playing online games could have been an issue. Although last night I was streaming and losing 35% frames with no family members using netflix or doing anything internet related.

Any help or pointers in the correct direction would be fantastic. Thank you for anyone who responds.

The offer is still good K0range, Sorry it took so long, I barely noticed that you wrote something on here. no notification.

Anway, so the stalled connection shows that you are dropping roughly 300kbps of your 2500kbps.  This cause because by ISP traffic, or a busy ingest (try a few ingests), and other than lowering your bitrate there is nothing you can really do about it. Its just bad routing somewhere.  EDIT: on second thought, its almost like you have someone uploading torrents while you stream that is causing your stalling.  This is really just a guess, but its stalling at the same point so its either that or you ISP is throttling you.

your duplicate frames look really good, no more than 100 over the stream period when your connection is working right.  this might mean you can do 720@60, which is the highest I recommend for fps with streaming.

1080@60 is really only for local recording even if you think you have the bandwidth, you stalling at 2500 every so often says otherwise.  again, sometimes this isn't something you can just upgrade your way out of.

Second, twitch recommends no more than 3500 bitrate, to which where you sit at 2500, is the best place to maximize viewership and not cause your viewers to buffer.

Recommendation 1 Use this tool for your region occasionally, this will tell you if an ingest is good or not.  usually have a primary and a backup.
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/tech-support/478845-twitchtest-twitch-bandwidth-tester

Recommendation 2 720@60 would be great for quality, but a 6 core AMD usually wont cut it, even though I think yours would, it would be better to just drop your cpu preset to faster or fast with 720@30.

EDIT for clarity

This does actually help a lot.  8 speaker headset (5.1 REAL surround).
