As the last figure of 1v7531 is 1 and that translates directly to the "A" of 1753A in the alphabet, I translated 1v7531 completly: AVGECA. Never heard of it, so I googled it:
http://www.whatstandfor.com/e/meaning-definition-of/avgeca
In numerology, it represents the number 3 :p
Completly irrelevant if you ask me, but I thought I'd share it with you.

To give context, there was a fork in the road at one point in the mystery (amongst the many of them), one of the forks was to go down a road with a clue called 'Bullet Hell', which when put into a certain game stores password screen, released a badge (can be seen on my profile) called 'Red Herring'.  Going down the other fork resulted in the people gathering the number 3.  There are still many other forks to be solved for, there are still many distorted audio tracks and pictures/puzzles that people haven't solved for.  It's pretty interesting :)

Also, the '3' is found on a train....a train which after solving other clues was revealed to carry the name 'Hype'...it's the Hype Train.

Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you.

If you just go through the threads (avoid the ones tagged just as 'potential clue', because the way the filter works is that any OP with the word 'Clue' in it gets that tag') you'll see people bring it up again and again.  Look for the 'confirmed progress' ones.

Got a few questions about this yesterday that I didn't get time to talk about, but this is basically a community ARG (Alternate Reality Game).  ARGs are known for their puzzles and riddles, a few games, such as Binding of Isaac, have done them before, but this one is quite a beast in of itself, especially once the trolls start giving false positives and information.  Not only is it an ARG, but it's an ARG that has been going on since last Christmas sale (that we know of now).  Some of the emoticons and elves from last years sale are also characters/suspects in this years comic.  It actually really interesting and now people are trying to figure out how long this game has been going on without us knowing.

Here is a link to the Wiki for it that just came up, it's actually very neat and organized, this will probably help out with a lot of questions: https://www.reddit.com/r/steamsaledetectives/wiki/index

Head to 'Confirmed ARG' a little ways down the page on this link, it's quite promising:
