Chinese L4D2 tournamnt apparently sponsored with prizes
« on: July 23, 2015, 01:01:07 pm »
http://www.greendragon74.com/col.jsp?id=108

A guy named green dragon added me the other night inviting "my team serious business" :P To play in his tournament. He linked me the website.

I don't know if the website is secure, if this is a phishing attempt, or what. Just thought I would post it here to see what people think, not that I play very much anymore.

Wouldn't make sense for your team "serious business" to play in such tournament seeing that some of your players don't even play anymore, but also make a big deal when it comes to play with high ping. Los Angeles, CA -> China ping is around 180-210.

Would be more appropriate for a west coast US / Western Canada team to play to represent "North America"
Maybe...

Myself, Han, Bravo, TooL, bAD?, **someone from Dallas/western US**.

I'd add Asian on there, but he himself doesn't like playing with high ping.

I'm not sure who else would be down to play, I'm sure some east coast people would be able to play who have experience playing with higher ping:

Grizz (he did well in EQ, recently, he has done decently, although he might ping around ~300ms..)
Azula (when we played in a scrim vs NV, he actually did really well.also for some reason he gets like West Coast ping..wtf is that about?)
SiDEWAYSBOX (Dallas, he's don't well in the past, but he does complain about higher ping, also not sure how active he's been)
Acer (he's also from California, good player, and has past experience playing with high ping in EU)
M4 (I know he isn't a US citizen, however, 1) he might not have a team to enter that tournament with 2) he is an honorary US player, seeing that he has played with Apollyon.

Before we jump to conclusions, we need to see what server they will be using for the tournament and check pings. There are a lot of talented players in the US, let's make it happen!

Also,  I think it says 1st place wins: 4,000 (maybe Chinese Yuan?), 8th place: 50

4,000 Chinese Yuan equals 644.13 US Dollars... not bad in my opinion.

Nice to see you posting on an English forum. Does this mean my team EVO (Skyline, Dec, Star, Fantasy, Tima) gets to play on HK Server so I get 30 ping? :D

Also, add me on Steam. I would like the IP of the HK SERVER with CLPL, so we can perhaps do EVO vs NV matches on acceptable ping (no loss/choke conditions). Also I have a Hong Kong server hosted on SoftLayer HK network, perhaps you could install CLPL PRO on that so we could use it for international practice. The Henan servers don't really offer my japanese mates good conditions to play on.

Wow, look at the amount of watchers and messages on that l4d section in Baidu. I guess that making the game live in terms of streams goes through announcing over there.

Inb4 Kissme spams the crap out of Baidu.

;) I miss my fans too.

Unfortunately though, I hate spammers and with a lack of internet right now I can't stream anyway.

@dragon

Good luck with the tournament, sir.

I'd love to play, but with my recent downgrade to 1.5mbps, until next month, I can't handle. However, the fact my DSL is sooooo slooowwwww, I've gotten pretty good at the lag here. ;P
