Atrocious L4D2 Campaign Run in AGDQ
« on: January 04, 2016, 07:20:28 am »
Anyone else see that embarrassment?

Some highlights:

"Melee weapons generally don't have any benefits"
Getting capped at nearly every SI
Choosing machine guns over shotguns
Not knowing how to properly fast climb ladders
Getting caught up on every witch and tank
Bunch of other misinformation / dumb statements

Did I mention this was on easy mode?

Link? Sounds worth a watch.
I look forward to this post being taken down so that you can continue running a corrupt system for a game that has less teams then I can count with one hand.

I don't know who this is, but sounds like a casual youtube letsplayer. Why would you even take anything they say seriously? You might as well argue against what a random pubbie says. These guys are literally no different.
$10 says you aren't anywhere near a controlling position of the L4D3 scene in any continent when it happens.

Thing is he does what he wants, cause his able to and we are letting him do that. He abuses hes place and power in this community and people like me get banned for no reason. Only thing visor wants is more and more control so he can do what ever he wants.

Awesome Games Done Quick is a speedrunning competition every year that gets a shitload of coverage from gaming sites and streams. The stream is sitting at 110,000 viewers atm.

These people are supposed to be some of the 'best players in L4D' on the top viewed stream on twitch. Considering one of them actually got lost in the map at one point, didn't know the hold-e exploit for reducing fall damage on incapped players, were getting horded by easy-mode commons, etc, this was disappointing to say the least.

I expected better.

Well, I, for one, won't stand for this misrepresentation of 'the best players in L4D'. I propose we start a fund to send team Helheim (or really only Supra and Miro) to AGDQ next year to show people who the true best players in L4D are. I think this would do wonders for the comp scene's publicity, and absolutely nothing could go wrong.

Supra and Miro ... the true best players in L4D

You, sir, just won this site. And the whole community for that matter.

I grant you this badge of the Order of the Supreme Online Gall

As a L4D2 speedrunner I can tell you those runners were not that great and that there are better runners that actually know their stuff.
Haven't watched the run myself yet, though. But I am disappointed to hear that representation of the game was not good.

As a friend of probably one of the most dedicated speedrunner of Left4Dead 2 (They are currently on break, but you can catch them over at http://www.twitch.tv/eekcast). A lot of speedrunners in general are far from being good at the games they speedrun, but are very knowledgeable in how to break the game to accomplish what they need to do. I've played with a lot of speedrunners (campaign/versus/ect.) and a lot of them know these crazy exploits that I myself don't even know, but when they get horded or there is a special infected you can bet your ass they are going to get destroyed.

It kind of is like game developing. When you develop a game, you knows the ins and outs of the game but that doesn't mean you'll be the best player at it. Speedrunners fall into this same category.

Well, I, for one, won't stand for this misrepresentation of 'the best players in L4D'. I sense the goth kids (Supra/Miro) getting beat up by video game nerds.

I would probably be the most likable of the group there. Considering I wouldn't be sitting there, trolling my audience/opponents/competition and actually giving out proper information. You would make a much finer edition for that team since you're more of an ass than I. You can also fill them up with propaganda as to why their speedruns aren't optimal on 30tick, and that they should rent your Alienware[1] servers for optimal speedruns.

I beg to differ, my little sarcastic friend.

Don't reply.

you guys are just as bad. wanting l4d2 to grow yet still flaming people who literally don't want anything to do with you / haven't spoken to you in how long?

you want the constant flaming / trolling to stop? stop giving people a reason to do it.

let me clarify because you still not might understand.
because of these little cheap shots and gossip you and mostly everyone else in this community like doing, make you part of the problem.

maybe if you played more, complained less about tickrates and oh yeah.. played more.. the game could have went somewhere. stay mad though
