I want to thank everyone who participated -- you are why this tournament has been a success!

Now, on to the playoffs.

For brackets,
Click >>>HERE<<<

The playoffs will consist of three (3) rounds of play: quarter-finals, semi-finals, and grand-finals.

Quarter-final matches will be determined by the result of a single game. Semi-final and grand-final matches will be "Best of 3" games.

Results of each match must be posted in this thread, with a screenshot of the scores for each game, by the round end deadline.

Map Selection

Several people have told me that the map selection process for semi-final and grand-final matches is too complicated. Therefore, I am amending it. If you are a participant, please read the following carefully.

For each round, I have published a map for Game 1 below. That will be the map played in the first game of each match. The loser of the first game will pick the map for the second game. If a third game is necessary, the loser of the second game will pick the map for the third game.

You may not pick a map that has already been played in the same match, and the maps must be in the map pool.

Schedule

Due to the logistical hurdles associated with scheduling and completing up to three games, I am extending the deadlines for the Semi Finals and Grand Finals. Round end dates are published below. These are "drop dead" dates for the round to end.

There is no rule against playing matches ahead of schedule. It is completely optional, but strongly encouraged. Please contact me if there are any conflicts in scheduling.

It is not necessary that all three games be played one after the other in the same day. My only requirement is that the complete match results be posted before the round end date.

Round 1
Map: The Parish

Round ends: March 22nd, 2015 (Midnight PT)

Round 2
Map 1: Hard Rain
Map 2: (Loser of game 1 picks)
Map 3: (Loser of game 2 picks)

Round ends: April 5th, 2015 (Midnight PT)

Round 3
Map 1: Swamp Fever
Map 2: (Loser of game 1 picks)
Map 3: (Loser of game 2 picks)

Round ends: April 19th, 2015 (Midnight PT)

Please make one post in this thread with screenshots and results after the conclusion of each match.

Updates
Updates will go here as the tournament progresses.

Congrats on the teams making it to the finals, and good luck to them in the next rounds! Well deserved by all of them. Just a quick follow up question: What's the system that you based the brackets on? From what I recall, usually the teams are paired 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, and 4 vs 5. I'm just curious as to how the pairings came about this way.

Looks like 1v5, 2v6, 3v7, and 4v8, not really sure about the logic behind it but I didn't really put much thought into it.

Past tournaments have done the 1v8, 2v7, etc. way (Ones I've hosted)...  but I actually think the one we're doing here is better...  my 2 cents with no reasoning behind it c:

Pairings were based on "balanced" method which should give a bit of a chance to weaker teams but I think it's too much for them being unfair for stronger teams. :( Alerion and whatevaz by any means should not fight right in the quarter-finals - i mean come fucking on - one of them will not proceed further while they are one of the main favorites and should fight like in finale or somewhere near. You even made it one game first round so it adds more random. Seems like you really HATE Alerion and/or whatevaz. O_o

I don't have words - this pairing seems absolutely terrible and only one game for first round makes it even worse.

Friendly reminder that every tournament in the last 2+ years has had bo1 games for all finals matches (excluding international matches)

but in the end only the best will get be champ tho. if you lose to any team, you obv arent #1. and its not like there is 2nd or 3rd place prize or anything (i don't even know if there is a 1st place prize). but i do agree that all rounds should be BO3 as there are only 8 teams.

Ideally, they would all be bo7... but there are a lot of factors to balance. The amount of time to complete the tournament is the biggest one. Now, I'm not aware of anyone wanting to step up and start a new Promod tournament after this one. But I don't want the tournament to drag on forever regardless.

If all three rounds were bo3, then the playoffs alone could take more time to complete than the main section did. Unless I made everyone play up to three matches every week, which is a level of activity that most teams can't be reasonably expected to maintain.

So I put a lot of thought into it, and decided there's no perfect solution. This was the best balance I could come up with between competitive "accuracy" vs what I can fairly demand from the competitors vs time to completion. I think it will work out okay, but I suppose we'll all find out together, won't we?

Well fig added me and explained stuff. It is fair for them because they decided everything by themselves with their games but I still don't like it because  I see whaevaz vs alerion at least in semi-finals!

And please make sure that every game or majority will be streamed because I don't quite see rule about it. :/
