General / Dmg Bonus System

Does anyone know how the damage bonus system works for some Asian hard coop servers (e.g. this) ? Looking for which actions get rewarded (like skeeting a hunter, cutting a smoker's tongue, or leveling a charger) and amount of dmg bonus for each action. Also how quickly it's suppose to wear off.

Figuring asking here would be more convenient than making up some custom values, since it would take more time to test which values need to be nerf'd / buffered.

Servers & Adminning / Good VPS hosts outside of US locations

Anyone know of any good server rental companies where hosts don't overload their servers and ping won't fluctuate?

Every company I've tried had bad ping fluctuations. I'm looking to purchase a VPS instead of a gameserver because we need the flexibility of a VPS to run our cron job scripts for our server config (server quits upon all players DC'ing + autoreboots, another one automatically checks workshop map collection for updates every 12 hrs).

There are the locations I am looking for:
  • Singapore
  • China
  • Hong Kong
  • Japan
or some location near those 4

Japan would be the most preferable our of the 4.
Edit: Though if anyone has suggestions for companies operating outside of these regions feel free to share - may eventually want to host in additional locations.

Looking & Recruiting / Looking (survival)

I’m looking for some good players who’d be interested in survival mode. For those who don’t play it, I would say it’s similar to the intensity of hard coop (as long as it’s not a long spam map), but in a different way. You’re mostly dealing with a lot of common infected, two tanks spawned most the time (after the 12-minute mark), as well as an average of 7-10 SI per minute.

No teams are active in survival mode and being able to get 2-3 games a month would be awesome. First 12 minutes of every map is always boring but after that it stays busy during the entire round.

Player preference: located in the US or EU (preferably the US). Good enough to get through a few chapters of breezy’s hard coop mode.

Would anyone happen to know where I can find the following scripts for a l4d2 server?

- server reboots after all players disconnect
- server auto-update script
- server auto-reboots at certain time each day (if server is empty)

Confogl & Miscellaneous / HardAlways config [help]

I’m trying to configure a !match menu for a bunch of HardAlways coop modes (hard 6, hard 8, hard 10, etc.) along with player amounts (1, 2, 3, 4). So far I’m using one “test” folder to host 1 configuration in (hard 10, 2 player mode), which was originally a promod 4.4.2 confogl folder.

 First let me say the main plugin I’m using to spawn SI in hordes is the “Auto Infected Spawner” ( ). I have it configured to spawn up to 10 SI at once with a minimum spawn timer of 6 seconds and a maximum of 16 seconds.

EDIT: forgot to mention the hordes spawn in groups of 4 at a time

I’ve noticed some bugs which I can’t figure out. The only thing I’ve tried is putting a “//” in front of almost every command in the confogl.cfg file and bug #2 (see below) still happens (the other bugs probably happen too but haven’t tested it yet).

1) When I died and Ellis was still alive, the round didn't restart. When ellis got charged he had unlimited hp - although I know he didn't have unlimited hp any other time because he got incapped/killed several times.
2) SI just disappear without you killing them - (YouTube is being slow with the upload)
3) no items in the end saferoom ( )

Here’s everything I have in the test folder:

Confogl.cfg -
Made sure that confogl_addcvar confogl_blockinfectedbots  was set to 0, and confogl_addcvar director_allow_infected_bots was set to "1".

Confogl_plugins – only thing I have disabled is the ready.smx plugin. I have some plugins added in from the optional folder (e.g. common infected regulator & melee in the saferoom)

Promod.cfg – I have the cvars associated with l4d2_nobhaps.smx and l4d2_m2_control.smx disabled.

The other folders are the same as what comes in promod 4.4.2.

I'm going to try to post this without being TL:DR.

First, I've gotten promod working with Sir's Promod installation guide, but I needed to update the left4downtown extension and add a socket extension ( [EXTENSION] Socket (3.0.1)). Unfortunately there were some game-breaking errors so I decided to install the newest version from scratch.

Here's what I've done so far, from a clean install of L4D2:

1) Installed latest version of Sourcemod (build 5265 from 1.7 branch), Metamod (1.10.6), L4DToolz, and Stripper:Source (1.2.2).

2) Installed Jacob's Promod 4.4.2 release - fresh install.

3) Installed socket extensions/ gamefiles (3.0.1).

-- Started Server / error: [confoglcompmod.smx] [MI] Couldn't load MapInfo data! (full error log ).

4) Installed & (from Sir's Promod installation guide, "extensions & gamedata" section) into sourcemod/extensions

5) Installed into sourcemod/gamedata (from the same guide, same section).

I noticed some files missing from the 4.2.2 fresh release of promod, that were included in sir's full-promod package (e.g. matchmodes.txt ). I interpreted "fresh install" to mean that this promod package includes everything (except for some extensions that have to be installed seperately - ).

So do I need to install sir's complete promod package from his guide before doing a fresh install of Jacob's 4.2.2 promod package?
If not, what errors have I made installing promod into the server?
