I generally disagree with splitting teams up based on prejudged skill, continent they are from or any other criteria for that matter. In both a Swiss-style and a Group/Playoff style tournament give both inexperienced and more experienced teams to play though as much of the competition as possible. The Swiss-style allows for teams to be paired up against each other based on the W/L ratio with the idea that this way the teams are close in skill due to the fact they have done equally good in the competition itself, while the Group-style can have a situation where a top-tier and low-tier team are in the same group it allows for 2/3 teams to proceed to playoffs instead of proceeding based on the fact if you are in the top 8 teams as in Swiss. In most cases a group is consisted of 4/5 teams so if a team isn't in the top 2/3 of their own group i don't think they can use an excuse like "we had better teams in our group" because even if they didn't have those teams and made playoffs the odds of playing those "better teams" in the playoffs themselves are just as high as getting them in the group phase. The only downside i see of the group/playoff style is that in the past few years the playoff bracket has been made single-elimination, while i believe double-elimination is better for a few reasons. First off it gives more games to played which would mean more games to be covered and streamed, and the other reason being a more realistic final and grand final.Say for example team A and B are the best in the cup, but they have to play each other in playoffs round 1, and in the end team C(let's say for the example that they are nowhere near the level of teams A and B) got the 2nd place, a double-elimination would remove that possibility. In it the team that loses in round 1 if really better than the rest of the teams will make it to the final of the loser bracket and get the 1st/2nd place they deserve just as much as the team they lost to in round 1.But this is my personal option so feel free to take it as you want.

Did you mean that you wont be able to put another cup achievement to your profile cause u get wiped in the first game ? If some worse teams happen to go further from the 1st phase and u wont (lets say they are in another group above you), they will get wiped in the 2nd match they play, it doesnt matter which point u drop cause u will drop anyways if u are worse, apart from the fact that u cant write it to your profile that u were 3rd in the cup. It wouldnt solve anything.

Two matches would be more fair for both teams and would provide more realistic point difference, but then again it would be more matches to schedule and so on, some people tend to have strict time arrangements, so kinda double barreled situation.

Miro as much as i think you shouldn't even have a right to even play this game after your colorful past, let alone commenting on upcoming competitions i am not so sure you got what i was trying to say.Maybe read it again and then reply but first please do read up on this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reading_comprehension
Thank you.

Unfortunately, due to Jacob quitting his position as ProMod developer and abdication of the community (coupled with my resignation earlier this week), CCT3 has officially been cancelled due to the fact 2 of the 3 planned admins have officially dropped their involvement, and EsToOpi is one of our mutual best friends who can see why such decisions have been made. Jacob says he was really looking forward to this tournament, but he no longer has the drive to bring it to fruition.
I look forward to this post being taken down so that you can continue running a corrupt system for a game that has less teams then I can count with one hand.

LOL im sure people simi and colors can pick up the game and take rails and jacobs place and donate thousands of dollars and hours into its growth since all they did was criticize the current admins!

You're welcome
$10 says you aren't anywhere near a controlling position of the L4D3 scene in any continent when it happens.

Thing is he does what he wants, cause his able to and we are letting him do that. He abuses hes place and power in this community and people like me get banned for no reason. Only thing visor wants is more and more control so he can do what ever he wants.

A dedicated community website to competitive L4D and L4D2, ran by the community, for the community. L4DNation supports all continents of play and focuses on bringing together the community as a whole to a central hub of information.
