CCT4 Grand Finals
« on: July 28, 2015, 09:31:13 pm »
Whatever vs The Kingsmen is the final matchup of the tourney!!

2 games will be played and the scores from both games will be added together to give the final score. Both games will be played on a New York server. (It's the most balanced for both teams.. Playing on LA and then EU would be stupid.)

There will be 4 maps available, each team will choose 1 map they do not want to play and the remaining maps will be used. If both teams choose the same map not to be played, I will roll a 3 sided dice to pick a map to remove from the pool. The captain of your team must private message me on l4dnation by tomorrow night at 7 PM PST with what map you do not want to play, or you will forfeit your vote.

Matches must be played by Monday, August 10th, at 11:59 PM PST.

Map Pool: Open Road, Detour Ahead, Dead Before Dawn, Diescraper Redux

Whatever has banned Dead Before Dawn, and The Kingsmen have banned Diescraper Redux, leaving us with the final 2 maps to be played this tournament.

Detour Ahead is to be played for the first match, and Open Road will be played for the second.

This is now the time for anyone to give feedback on the tournament. Did you guys like the new format for finals with teams banning a map? I know a lot of people prefer swiss over double elim but that's just how it worked out this time. I'm more interested in what you thought about the administration (or lack thereof), the playoffs format, etc.

I find it strange that your weeks appear to be longer than 7 days.
The lack of casts was sad, I don't mind watching PoV streams from players, but eh.

Yea I liked a lot this tournament. Banning map in loosers finals / grand finals was good idea. also enjoyed to play these games in NY server. and ping wasn't that bad neither for EU players 100 - 130 (Really good servers).

(hopefully we see more "new" maps in next tournament)

Great job Jacob :)

custom maps suck. other than that good tournament. I like the hands off approach.

I really enjoyed the change of pace. I had a really good time this tourney. It was difficult scheduling at times, but other than that, everything actually went smoothly. No crazy disputes or anything this time. My only real complaint is not about the administration, and just that once teams started getting knocked out, the teams still in had an increasingly hard time finding people that would scrim on a custom map and/or reflux. Apparently, the moment you're out of a tournament in a different config, you're never playing it again and you're restricted to Carny/Promod. Not a shot at anyone, just wished some more people would be open to trying different stuff, even if they're not practicing for a tourney. Literally the only team that scrimmed us on custom maps or reflux in the later parts of the tournament never even played in the tournament in the first place. I really enjoy playing new stuff as well as the usual since it feels like I'm getting more out of the game.

Thanks for continually running these and not being afraid of differing from the norm, Jacob.

I also enjoyed the change of pace. I found it very easy to schedule my matches as several of the team captains were very friendly and even offered to give a hug if i was sad if we lost. +1 on yelp would recommend
