Dark Blood 2 reminds me of The Passing 2 - The entire campaign is like one gigantic choke point. Terrible map design for versus with no sense of pacing. The ladder chokes and the underwater section make it even worse.

I haven't played the passing 2, but my biggest complaint about dark blood 2 is that the absurd chokes (particularly the underwater section) turn mistakes that would normally cause an incap to cause a death or a wipe and there's a lot of damage that's basically guaranteed to happen with all the ladders and overhead spawns.  The unpreventable damage combined with the absolutely impossible chokes is not fun for anyone, no one is being "outplayed" and no fun is being had.

So much hate for Dark Blood.   I agree it has lots of chokes....  but i've been seeing a lot of safe rooms when i watch the streams on watchl4d.  Everyone's entitled to their opinion of course  8)

It's a little late, but I'd suggest not scrimming teams on it that already know it really well... and maybe take some time to actually learn the campaign before jumping into versus in general.

The map is certainly difficult which is whatever but the water thing is what bugs me the most. I've seen our team and other teams just lose at the beginning of the map if there is an early tank fight that makes you weak/slow. If just one person gets incapped in the water it's next to impossible to get him back up without drowning yourself.

Plugin to block "water damage".  Just like the spit damage plugin.  Problem would be solved.   I think we all agree the drowning mechanism isn't just hard, but it's bugged too.

I have drowned once out of the 3 times ive gone up that ladder...its evil...but it can be done..made it up once with minimal chip, 2nd time almost wiped and 3rd time died saving a down underwater....if ur not 80+ hp u can just pray for death if u gotta pick up with a hit coming back up...the struggle is real.  All in all though the map is fun the tanks are diff so i dont hate DB :D

Estoopies idea sounds pretty solid..i mean it is a function of the map but would be nice to just not drown but with the spit blocked up top it would just make the choke worthless..i mean plenty of other chokes but still xD

As it's potentially a bit late for that, how about you just add a gentleman's rule: teams are forbidden to attack in the water.

Good point arti sadly -.-

I mean its strong enough attacking at the top a hit down in the water pretty much is asking for accidental health restoration or a just flat out wipe of the team.  But who knows if other teams/people would agree to not do it when they could easliy wipe doing so...the temptation is real.
