what are the pros of dark blood 2?

Well, I'm not gunna sit and defend every map that we choose to use because every map will have someone that dislikes it.

I will say however that it's a very difficult map which will require a lot of practice and teamwork to get down, and it adds a bit of variation to the map pool.

Here are a few things we/I usually consider when looking for contender campaign to be used in any CCT:
1. Campaign must be 4-5 maps in length
2. Campaign must not copy or have any copy-pasted content from an official campaign
3. Campaign must not have any texture errors (purple and black checkered textures)
4. Campaign must not have any nav/flow errors which break scoring, tank spawns, or witch spawns.
5. And in this particular CCT, Campaign must not have been used in previous tournaments (with the exception of Arena of the Dead since it hasn't seen the light of day since the first round of CCT1)

Other things considered to be negatives:
1. FPS drops
2. Lots of ladder chokes
3. Overly challenging finales
4. Overly long maps
5. Lack of infected ladders

Of course we are open to suggestions!  Highway to Hell Jacob and I both agree is an awesome campaign and looks like it'd be great for versus.  However, on map 1, you are rewarded full distance points before even leaving the safe room.  If someone is able to figure out how to fix that, that'd be amazing! I've already spent about 4 hours just dicking around with the map 1 safe room and haven't had any success.  The campaign author blocked me when I tried to add him.  He also ignored Jacob.  I posted on the campaign's steam group with no response as well.

Open Road on the other hand: The author actually went ahead and fixed the broken distance scoring on the finale just for us so we could use it in a tournament.  He actively makes a lot of maps for CS:GO.  Open Road isn't super flashy, but it has great versus balance.

Dark Blood has a lot of eye candy and interesting chokes that I believe no other campaign can offer.  It's not as intuitive of a campaign as Open Road, but you learn it fast.  It has the first scavenge finale that has been used in CCT.  I believe there is untapped fun that us versus-only players can have if we just accept a little scavenge and learn how to play it.

CCT is largely about new experiences for everyone, so that's the reason for the nearly brand new map pool.  Like Jacob said, we have 3 more campaigns coming too.  8)

Open Road has copy pasted areas, as does The Bloody Moors (if you're using it in CCT3). Haven't played Arena yet. EDIT: Just played it. Same deal, found a few copy pasted things.

I don't think this is a good criteria for exclusion, as a lot of maps copy paste buildings/areas/etc from Valve campaigns. It's easier to copy a full building then modify it than to make it from complete scratch.

Yeah It's kind of a "gray area judgement call" type of criteria.  There are just some campaigns where you'll be running along and all of a sudden your in an exact replica of the exploding gas station area on No Mercy 3 and its kinda....  ???   ..  It's just a matter of how jarring/obvious it is that the author got lazy.

BTW I used the word "usually" on purpose because obviously there are always exceptions to everything.

Ah, I see. Yeah, No Mercy gas station is overused way too much in some custom campaigns... same with plane crashes sometimes.

We tried to quick-draw and give each other a 7 day ban, we both hit the bullseye.

I played through Dark Blood with the stripper running, its significantly better, nice job.
I'm still worried about map 1 and map 3 tank
as well as the finale tank that seems to spawn as saferoom opens, seems like it would always wipe.

Finale intro tank is removed in promodcct. Map 1 tank isn't bad if you run it back down to the crate area, and in my experience map 3 tanks are actually really easy. Make sure you have the stuff from the confogl.cfg and the mapinfo that was included.
