CCT3 Finals Bets
« on: November 23, 2014, 03:17:14 pm »
Greetings people of l4dnation.  Since we now have the two teams for the finals of the CCT3 I think it'd be fun to have a little betting in place.  I sorta had a similar thing in place for the RBT Grand Finals (albeit last minute, think about 16-17 people participated) hopefully this can be a bit better (ha ha ha).

Rules that we had last time:

1.)  Bets are a 1 dollar buy in (no more no less, so no super butthurtness occurs if you lose).  Item(s) must be around 1 USD on the steam market (CS:GO items, cards, Dota 2 items, etc.)

2.)  You pick the winning team and the scores of the match (since it will be home-away games we shall use the total combined scores).  So for example,  Apollyon > BedTime 6000- 100.

3.)  The person who picks the winning team and their predicted scores are closest to the actual final scores wins.  So no 2nd, or 3rd place (although this could be implemented if we get a decent amount of people and its desired).  So again for example,  If I pick Apollyon > Bedtime 6000 - 100 and TooL picks Apollyon > Bedtime 2000 - 500 and the actual scores are 3000 - 50.  His total point difference from the actual is 1450 and mine is 3050  (diff of predicted score for apolly vs. actual apolly score + diff of predicted score for bedtime vs. actual bedtime score = total difference.)  Hopefully that makes some sense.  Also, winning team take priority over scores.  So a person who predicts the winning team but scores are further off beats the person who predicted the losing team but their scores are closer.

4.)  Last time I held on to the items and distributed them to the winner (TooL), who can confirm this so I'm not out to steal people's monies.

5.)  Bets lock 30 minutes before the scheduled match start time.  Predicted scores can be altered up until that moment after which I will record all the predictions so no sneakiness can occur.  Items should also be traded before the lock time otherwise you won't be in on the bets.

We had like 40+ people in h2k mumble watching the game, dicking around, shit-talking etc.  so hopefully we can have that again.

Will probably update this some more, but if anyone is interested you can leave predictions on this page.

Servers > CCT3 Teams

The servers have fought a long and hard stretch this tournament, but their exemplary ability to crash completely out of the blue and cause insane amounts of issues from Australia all the way to Dallas has truly been remarkable. They're truly one of the greatest teams to ever grace L4D2, and their exceptional ability to make at least two playoff teams to question staying in the tournament at all is truly exemplary. Dating back the Servers' wonderful performance in WatchL4D where they crashed during a semi-finals match, to where they spawned a fifth survivor in the saferoom of the WatchL4D grand finals, to their 2x config-assisted crashing ability exemplified in the Apol vs Bedtime matchup from the group stage, I truly cannot wait to see how the Servers perform in this grand final matchup, and whilst I know declaring them the victor in this scenario may be bold, I have seen how the Servers have truly imposed their relevance in the competitive aspect of L4D2 in literally every one of the recent tournaments. This may just be their time to shine.
I look forward to this post being taken down so that you can continue running a corrupt system for a game that has less teams then I can count with one hand.

Suspicious server crash during first hit of our game exposed our formidable tactics to team Apollyon, so much so that when we restarted, the aforementioned team was able to adapt which led to a resulting death charge, a significant factor that would have otherwise not occurred in what was an extremely close game. I'm not usually one to buy in to conspiracy theories, but I call for an official investigation in to team Apollyon, who have been carried through to the grand finals as a result of suspicious server crashes at suspiciously opportune times. I suspect this goes all the way to the top, and not only do I demand Jacob answer these allegations and resign, but I demand their home game be replayed on an Australian server, as their server clearly was not up to tournament standards.

Bed Time > Apollyon by 1pt, 3 weeks of disputes to determine actual winner.
