let me start with i have no idea what jacob / estoopi plan to do but i thought it would be nice to organize feedback for the maps played so far in the tournament and give people an opportunity to vote on what they would like to see / play in the finals.

The rules for the poll are users are allowed to change votes and can (and should ideally) vote 3 times max since that is the number of maps in a 8 team finals bracket, but users should really abstain until they have played all the maps and have a feel for them.



so for myself, given my team is spread out over 3 different continents and 4 different time zones it is difficult to play very much but going from our matches, the 3 maps i am voting for are Open Road (which has yet to be played but it is the only map i have scrimmed more than twice), diescraper and Arena of the Dead 2.

I really hope people give at least a one sentence review of why they liked / didnt like a map and it helps the admins when it comes to organizing future cct events.

Urban Flight: I can't say much about this map since my review is highly biased due to the fact i get no frames on it and was unable to play my team's match on it. Scavenge Finale is an interesting concept and does not prove too complicated to teams unfamiliar with scavenge as much as dark blood 2's.

Dark Blood 2: by far my least favorite of the maps. map 1 is okay and the water choke is interesting but ultimatley boils down to setting up top and unlike other ladder chokes the pressure is on the survivors to go up. map 3's tank where the survivors can go to that unhittable spot and the fact that your only tank is pretty much guaranteed to get lit map 4 just kills the fun factor for me

Undead Zone: my biggest gripe w/ this map is its length. has what i would consider one of the better finales for sure.

Diescraper: first 3 maps are good if and when certain issues are fixed. regarding the saferoom tank map 3, espite being possible, if the path for a tank isn't obvious i don't think it makes sense especially to players not familiar with the map. Finale w/ the chairroom is beyond OP though and that just ruins it.

Open Road: also on the bit of the lengthy side but is overall a good map and my favorite of the new 5.

Arena of the Dead 2: my favorite from cct1 and of this. from what i understand it is *improved* since cct1. always loved the early tank map 3. yet to be played this event but i still hope to see it in the finals

you mean after the maps for the finals are already selected? good idea. most people should remember arena from cct1 and open road was one of the first ones announced so i would think by this point people already have an idea of what they like and didn't like oh and feel free to reread this

I feel like Undead Zone and Open Road are obvious choices personally...   

I voted for Urban Flight as my 3rd choice, but tbh....  the bugged tank on the finale and the low FPS and I just generally enjoy playing on Diescraper more makes me feel I should have picked Diescraper..  We can always block off that office room.. or just remove the chairs!?

In terms of Arena of the Dead's improvements.  I believe the most noticable change will be that there are less hittables.  In CCT1, a lot of survivors would resort to just fighting a tank in a tiny room and hope for the best...  now it seems to require a little more thought on the tanks part rather than just rolling in 4 hittables.  There are some more accessible pill spawns and more death charges blocked as well though.

i'm glad u appreciated this thread in some way, im not sure what u have planned but i figured input from the teams playing the maps couldn't hurt. as far as the diescraper room, removing the chairs seems like the way to go since there is still a small possibility of a death charge. the chairs are what break the room imo, if u get rid of them and fix the pills in the saferoom issue then i think diescraper is a finals worthy map

You don't need to remove the chairs, you can set a stripper addition to modify their spawnflag to not collide with players. Much less work than removing them all one by one

Also.. I don't think that room is so OP as much as it just makes the whole finale seem crappy.... Not because it is, but because of the one strat that everyone has decided to copy...  Rather than a finale, it just feels like "the chair office room map"... which isn't fun for spectators, casters, streamers, whatever... makes the game boring.
